Dear Parents,

Well, February has arrived! As I’m sure you noticed on the reverse side, this month is going to be very busy!!!  Here are some updates and reminders for the month:

NO SCHOOL Friday, February 1, 2013.

Saturday, February 2nd is Groundhog’s Day.  Students will learn about this tradition so be sure to discuss it at home this weekend!

Monday, February 4th is the Mid Point of the Trimester

The Reading Pep Rally will be held on Friday, February 8th for all students. So far, the students have read over 4,000 books!!! Great job students!  Let’s keep up the good work and reach our goal.  It will also be School Spirit Day so be sure to wear your blue and white.

Progress Reports are going out February 11th.

There will be a PTO meeting at Olivet School on Tuesday, February 12th at 6:30 pm.  As always, parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Valentine’s Day will be celebrated on Thursday, February 14thBe on the look out for more information from your child’s teacher regarding any information or activities.

Class Pictures will be taken on Thursday, February 14th.  Smile pretty!

Thursday, February 14th will also be Box Top Collection and the end of the Gertrude Hawk Fundraiser.  If you have any questions about either of these items, please contact a PTO representative or at the Norma Office. 

There will be NO SCHOOL on the Friday, February 15th and Monday, February 18th in observance of President’s Weekend.  Enjoy the long weekend!

The 100th Day of School will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 20th.  There will be many activities pertaining to the number 100 on this special day.

Thursday, February 21st will be the next Pittsgrove School District Board Meeting.  The meeting will be held in the Schalick Media Center beginning at 6:30 pm.

Monday, February 25th will be another Pittsgrove School District Board Meeting.  The meeting will be held in the Schalick Media Center beginning at 6:30 pm.

Reading Logs will be due on February 28th.

Please remember to have your current telephone information of file with the office.  With the cold weather comes the potential for snow, sleet, and freezing rain.  It’s important that we are able to contact you should school be cancelled or close early.  If you need to update any information, please contact the Norma School office as soon as possible.
