Dear Parents,

Welcome Back!!!!  It’s hard to believe thatthe summer is over and we have begun the school year already.  Looking forward, I am excited for the upcoming year and all that is in store for our students.

Hereis an overview of important dates to remember in September for Norma School:

All student information sheets are due back to the office no later than Monday,September 10th.  It is very important that we have these sheets back as soon as possible so that we have current emergency contact information.  Information that needs to be filled out and returned is located on the right side of your child’s folder.  Please fill it outand return it as soon as possible.

We will celebrate our first School Spirit Day on Friday, September 14th! If your child has a Norma shirt already, please have them wear it to school.  If not, please wear our school colors, blue and white, to show your spirit.

There is a Board of Education meeting at 7p.m.on Thursday, September 20th.  Meetings are held in the Schalick Media Center.  Parents and community members are welcome to attend.

Norma Student Picture Day will be held Monday, September 24th.  Be sure to bring a nice smile to school on that day.

Back to School Night will be held for kindergarten and pre-school on September27th.  Parents are encouraged to attend this special evening to meet their child’s teacher and see the classroom.  If at all possible, please do not bring students to this special parent event.

There will be an early dismissal for allstudents on Friday, September 28th for a staff in-service.  Please be sure to consult the early dismissal schedule for times.

Justa reminder… The weather is very nice andour students play outside regularly. We encourage parents to dress children in appropriate clothing. Shorts are permitted and sneakers are recommended for all outsideplay.  While sandals, flip-flops,heelys, and crocs are fun to wear, they can be hazardous on the playground andwhile walking in the halls and on stairs and can cause injuries.  In addition, fancy dress clothing, dress shoes, and items with long strings (such as hoodies) can also be dangerouson playground equipment.  Please refrain, whenever possible, from sending students to school wearing these items.  We strive to keep the children safe on the playground equipment and in the building at alltimes and this will help greatly. Thank you so much for your attention to this important matter!

Should you have any questions throughout the start of school, please do not hesitate to contact Norma School at 358-6904.

Weare looking forward to a fun school year at Norma School!

Fondly,

Dr. Georgette Meister
